Shore cable testing
Do you use a shore cable on your boat?
We are offering a cable test for £10 on your shore cable, if you bring it to the office early in the day, labeled and with name and phone number, we will get it back by the end of the day.
If you are a live aboard we will offer a 20 minute turn round
Damaged cables can cause problems on your own boat and can contribute to unstable supply problems with in the marina area.

Car Park Barrier
On the morning of the 17th the car park barrier was forced open, following the failure in the electric supply system in the corner second pound.
The barrier will be out of action pending the supply of new parts. The gearbox and motor and their housing were seriously damaged.
On investigation it appears that there is considerable movement in and out of the site at all hours of the day and night.
Before the barrier is returned to service some mechanism will be devised as a call out at that time is neither safe nor feasible to open it.

Paul Garfield

General Mooring Notes
Following recent work on netting on various pontoons, a number of mooring cleats have been re-affixed. A number of boats have been found with very tight mooring ropes which when the water levels rise or wind blows hard put great extra strain on the cleats. As were are not dealing with oil tankers at sea please allow a bit of slack on the ropes. It is also sensible to tie from the boat round the cleat and back onto the boat. Sorry if this sounds too much information but it only adds to the running costs, damages the wood of the pontoon etc.

Power Outages
Apologies for the breaks in electric supplies this was due to a faulty circuit breaker which has now been replaced, so further inspection work is on going.
