Vintage Engine – Gardner
Built by Mike Haywood in 1989, she was last surveyed in 2017 and was believed to be shot blasted and 2pac coated. She is painted in blue and red livery with a cream surround and cream roof. She has a large bow deck and a traditional style stern.
Height to Cabin Centre 6ft 4” (1.95m)
Insulated with fireproof polystyrene and lined out in oak faced ply with hardwood trim the floor is laid to Carpet tiles throughout.
Entrance is through two wooden stable style doors and in to the large saloon which has ample space for free standing dining and living room furniture in the centre it has a Brunel stove. At the entrance are corner units for the tv and a small desk area.
Heading towards the stern and separated by a half height bulkhead with units and display shelves is the ample galley. It has a 12v Fridge, a white composite sink and drainer set in pale cream work tops there is a vanette 4 ring hob with separate Oven and Grill. Along with a wall unit with shelves, opposite are a set of side doors.
Has a hip bath with shower over, dump through toilet with pump out (Shower waste pump currently not working) hot water is provided by a Morco gas water heater.(2019)
Beyond the bathroom is the bedroom with a fixed double bed done in the style of a four poster, it has a shelf over with reading lights and drawers under. At the end of the bed is a small dressing table area and a large full height wardrobe. There is a door leading in to the engine room
The large engine room has side doors on each side. Sited in the centre is a Gardner Marine 2LW engine number 147533 as per pump and sandwich plate, circa 1968, with a dynamo charging system and what we believe to be a Gardner 2UC gearbox. With traditional controls. Engine start 24v leisure batteries 2 x Victron 220 AGM. Shore power socket.
Beyond the engine room is the boatman’s cabin, which although not complete has all the basic structures and could easily be restored. (there is no stove although the hearth and flue are still in place)
2 x 13 kg gas bottles. Mooring Equipment, Anchor, Life ring and Ash Bin, small battery charger, motorised satellite dish. Recliner chair, fan heater.
