Turf 32ft Traditional Narrowboat

HULL:This 32ft traditional boat built by Agar Fabrications in 1977 is pretty well a good as the day it was built with a 6mm base plate and 5mm sides having been recently blacked again with epoxy ensuring its long life.

Hull survey from 2018 shows no pitting and a steel thickness of 5.9 on the base plate.

FIT OUT: Fitted out by the original owner this boat has been extremely well thought out and built. It manages to contain everything you would need and three berths in a very small space including a sizable engine room. Spend a little time on here and you will find all sorts of little details which makes for a little boat with a big character.

OUTSIDE: In the bow is the gas locker and a sizable well deck covered with checker plate which houses the water tanks of 130lt and 80Lt both of which are stainless steel which is unusual in a boat of this age. There is also a small locker housing the mooring equipment and a rather unusual fitting at the side which by it construction I can only assume is for an anchor.

SALOON: Entrance to the main cabin is though a side door using a small step immediately in front of you is the Sallamander stove with a radiator behind.  There is also a section of fin rad running under the convertible sofa, this is a boat you are not going to be cold on. The seating area has storage under and pulls out to 39” giving you a double bed. The wardrobe opposite and the wall cupboard are very well constructed and the doors are really chunky. There is a little shelf with storage and a very cleverly hidden behind a brass fitting is a 12V socket. Lighting is by LED spot lights. Main cabin measures 11ft 4” long.

GALLEY: The Galley runs along the one side of the boat with the bathroom door opposite.  The galley top is made entirely of stainless steel, again it has been very well thought out managing to incorporate good storage a 2 burner hob and a small oven. With green painted cupboards and wooden racks providing plenty of storage.

TOILET: The first thing that strikes you about the toilet is the very unusual hand basin, which again was hand crafted to fit on this boat. It has a cassette toilet and a shower can be fitted over the sink. The floor is made of stainless steel again and there is a towel rail for heat.

ENGINE : The Engine is a Lister CE 16HP from we believe the 1940’s . It is a hand crank engine which was last overhauled in 2008 and service in 2018 . There is a double hatch on the starboard side to the engine can be viewed. There is a day tank 12L aprox.

BOATMANS CABIN: Beyond the engine is a rear cabin measuring 55”  with good access to the stern of the boat. There are numerous storage cupboards very easy access to the stern shaft and greaser. Two port holes and LED spot lights  as well as a solid fuel stove which again was built buy the original owner.  At the tiller position is a lovely fold down seat handy for those longer cruises.

OTHER EQUIPMENT:  There is a gas Alde boiler for heating and hot water if you don’t wish to run the engine or stove. 2 x 50W solar Panels. Kipor IG2000P Signmaster digital generator. Plus mooring Equipment fire extinguishers, fire blanket CO alarm and an Anchor.
